Ever wonder what turns 1904Photography.com shoots on? See me say I'm shooting the call box turn on my twitter and wonder what do I mean? Here is a list and description of the turns 1904 shoots on and what photos the turn can yield. They are in order from the lowest on the mountain to the highest.
This turn is at the 3000' elevation mark. You can call it whatever you want, I call it the turn at 3000ft. I like the turn because it has multiple spots that can produce some great shots. It's not too bumpy, and has a pretty consistent line all the way through. However, coming uphill, there is a slight turn that is not forgiving if you come in hot. Riders call the spot the black hole. It's easy to get sucked in, but a pain to get out.

I call this the "Call Box Turn"
I call it that because, well, it has a call box in the turn out. Its one of the first turns I started shooting at since I started coming up the mountain. I like it because I has a little bit of a view after the guard rail. Be carefull when riding, the turn has a wicked line and some bumps through out it going up. Most riders seem to like the down hill side of it.

I call this turn the Cattle Crossing. I call it that because at the beginning of the turn if you are going up hill, there is a cattle sign. This is one of my more frequented turns because I like the angles it provides. It does have shadows in the morning that I have to work with so I shoot from one spot during the early hours, but the shadow progressively get better during the day. This turn is one below the two turnouts corner, and the first shootable turn above the call box turn.

I have no nickname for this turn. That's why I have included the mile marker in the photo! The turn is the first turn below the big turnout. There are two turnouts between this turn and the big turnout. My car is parked in the bottom of the two turnouts.
I have shot this turn a few times and it works out only during certain times of the day and year because there is so many shadows.

This is the Big Turn Out, Look Out, Half Way Point. Whatever you want to call it. It's got a few names, more I'm sure I haven't heard of. This is the half way point, with a big turn out, as the names imply. Most riders use this spot as a place to turn around. I usually don't shoot higher than this spot because of this reason. After this point, the road slowly starts to get rougher and rougher. There are a lot of patches and tar snakes after this point because of the snow fall and plows in the winter.
**NOTE** When using this as a turn around point, be very cautious as people are still coming down and it is a blind turn. There have been numerous accidents here from people cutting in front of on coming traffic to enter the turn out.
